Congratulations Nikki! It is so good to have you still giving us all the ins and outs, and the goods and bads of the Valley's culinary findings - regardless of geographic area.

Congrats. I grew up and Tucson, and although I live in Cairo now, I try to keep up on the Arizona food news. I will be reading your articles for suggestions for when I come back this summer.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks! I know what you mean. In Phoenix and Scottsdale, I can pretty much picture every intersection and what's there. In the SEV, I'm not that good at it. I can drive anywhere, but I don't really remember what's where. But it's going to be so fun, learning my "beat."

Thanks, Justin, and yep, you got it. Just for fun--although if I ever get my act together (and now, that may take a while, given the additional assignments I have at the paper), I might get around to writing you up on Wild Lavender some day!

Thanks, David. Yes, my editor says all our reviews will be "platform agnostic," a term I adore. In other words, they will be placed wherever it makes sense that week, sometimes in F&D, sometimes in community editions, always online.

Thanks, Justin. To be honest, I doubt the format will change all that much. After doing extensive market research, the honchos at the paper have concluded that people want quick info, no frills. So my reviews will probably remain in the Scene, Food, Drink format. I think there may be a little less constraint regarding word count, and that's great. But I will still be concentrating on inexpensive ED places, which is fine. The SEV has lots of ethnic gems I hope to track down.

Wow. Fabulous. Looking forward to reading your "finds" in a part of the valley I know very little about. Maybe it will get me out of my 4 mile radius comfort zone!
